Q. Are there any special requirements for renting an RV from Vacationland RV?
A. The renter (customer) must possess a valid driver's license (and have a clean driving record), be at least 25 years of age, Any additional drivers must also be at least 25 years of age and present on the scheduled departure date with their valid driver's license.
Q. Is a down payment or security deposit required?
A. A $250 down payment (all of which is applied to your final rental charges) is required when you submit your RV Rental Application to reserve an RV. A security deposit, usually $600 for motorhomes and $250 for travel trailers, is required (in addition to your rental charges) on the scheduled date of departure and credited back to you on your scheduled return date.
Q. Do I have to provide my own insurance?
A. All renters must provide their own insurance and may do so by:
1. Provide an insurance binder thru their personal carrier or
2. Purchase RV rental insurance thru MBA Choice
Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. If the reservation is cancelled 30 days or more before the scheduled departure date, the entire $250 deposit is refunded minus a $35 administrative fee. If the reservation is cancelled within 14 days of the departure date no refund can be granted.
Q. What is your return policy?
A. Rental units must be returned by 11:00am on their scheduled return date. Unauthorized extensions will be charged at the unit's equivalent daily rate plus a $50/hour late fee (maximum 4/hrs per day). The gas tank must be returned full. There are no refunds or credits on early returns.
Q. Do any of the Rentals you rent come with generators?
A. All of the motor homes we rent are equipped with generators. It is not necessary for normal vehicle operation to use the generator. Generator fees are charges as so- $20/day for unlimited use or $5/hr. You must elect one of these options before you depart.
Q. What cleaning options do I have when I return the RV?
A. There are 3 cleaning options, one of which must be elected before you depart.
1. Pre-Paid Cleaning- We clean the RV inside & out and dump the waste tanks for you upon your return- $149
2. Pre-Paid Waste Evacuation- You clean the RV inside & out and we dump the tanks- $25
3. Renter Returns the Vehicle Clean- You clean the vehicle inside and out and dump the waste tanks (vehicle returns in the same condition it was in at pick-up)- $0
Q. Do you charge for mileage and if so how much?
A. We give you 100 free miles for each night you rent the vehicle. There is a 50 cent per mile surcharge if you go over the total allotted miles up to 100 miles and a $1 surcharge per mile from 101 to 200 over the allotted miles.
Travel Trailers have unlimited miles.
Q. Can I smoke in the RV?
A. Smoking is NEVER allowed in our rental motor homes.
Q. Can we bring our pets along?
A. Pets are NOT allowed in the rental units unless a cleaning fee/additional deposit has been paid at departure.
Q. Are there any travel restrictions you impose on your rental motor homes?
A. Our rental vehicles are not allowed in Mexico, on beaches or logging roads, on the Appache Trail in Arizona, or any other area where telecommunications are not readily available.
Q. Since there is a built-in ladder on the back of the RV can we use the roof to transport our luggage?
A. Access to the vehicles roof is forbidden. Ladders on rental units are for use by Vacationland RV personnel only. Customers are responsible for any roof damage.
Q. What happens if I receive a traffic ticket or parking citation while operating one of your rental motor homes?
A. Customers are responsible for reporting and payment of all parking / traffic violations at rental termination. Non-reporting of parking / traffic violations breaches the Rental Contract and will result in an administrative charge of up to $100 in addition to the fines.
Q. During our trip am I required to perform any maintenance on the rental RV?
A. While all fluid & air pressure levels are checked before any rental RV is released to a customer you are still required to maintain fluid levels in the engine and the generator, and maintain air pressure levels in the tires during your trip. In the event of an accident, it must be reported to the proper law enforcement authority immediately and to Vacationland RV as soon as practicable, but in any event, within 24 hours of the accident.
Q. How will I know how to operate all the extra appliances and electronics that an RV comes with?
A. ALL first time renters are required by our Insurance Company we conduct a full "walk-around," on the day you depart, to ensure that you are comfortable with all the RV's features & accessories before you depart. Each rental also comes with a binder on how to work electronic devices and provide emergancy contacts.
Q. Do I need a special driver's license to rent and operate one of your rental motor homes?
A. No, a special license is not required.
Q. What type of gas mileage do your rental RV's get?
A. Obviously there are many contributing factors which determine the gas mileage you will get however a good rule of thumb is to expect 8-12 MPG.
